Water mains maintenance - Leitchville
- Leitchville
On Tuesday 24 February we’re completing maintenance work on the water mains in Leitchville between 9am and midday.
Works will happen at water main valves close to town and impact parts of Leitchville-Kerang Road, Murray Valley Highway, King Albert Avenue, Leitchville S Road, and Bornmans Road, Leitchville.
This work will result in a planned 2-3 hour water supply interruption for some customers in the area - these impacted customers have been notified directly.
You may see our crews working in the area. We’ll complete these works as quickly as possible to minimise any interruption time.
These works will improve the resilience of the water network.
| Your stop tap |
Before the works, we strongly recommend you turn your stop tap off at your water meter. Once your interruption time ends, you can turn your stop tap back on. |
| What if I can’t find my stop tap or turn it off? | If you can’t turn your stop tap off, that’s ok, you can leave it on, however please do not use any water during your interruption time. If your stop tap is left on, you may notice discoloured water or air in your pipes for a short period after the works. Running your tap for a few minutes should clear this. |
| During the works | We recommend you store enough water for your household to use during the interruption. When your water is off, your toilet cistern won’t refill after you flush, so you may want to fill a bucket with water which can be tipped into your toilet. |
| Water quality | These works can cause temporary changes to the look of your drinking water. If this occurs, run your taps until the water runs clear. If problems persist, please contact us. Your water remains safe to drink. |
We thank you for your patience during these works.

Coliban Main Channel blockage - Sedgwick
- Coliban Main Channel, Sedgwick
Update, Friday 20 February
We have completed a structural and safety assessment of Wirths Tunnel and confirmed a significant blockage caused by debris entering the Coliban Main Channel from recent fires in the Harcourt area.
We are currently investigating avenues to safely clear the blockage.
We will provide another update mid next week.
Wednesday 18 February
Our crews are attending a blockage on the Coliban Main Channel at Wirths Tunnel near Youngs Lane in Sedgwick.
Debris from the recent fires in Harcourt has washed into the channel, causing the blockage.
This blockage is impacting our ability to deliver water to parts of the rural network including Spring Gully Channel, Abbotts Channel, Mannes Channel, Emu Valley #1 Channel, Emu Valley #2 Channel and the Coliban Main Channel downstream of Charles Lane in Faraday.
Our rural network provides water to our rural customers for irrigation and stock use. There is no impact to our drinking water networks which supply the towns in our region.
Due to the unknown structural condition of the tunnel, it is critical that a thorough assessment is completed before any crews enter, to ensure their safety. As a result, resolving the blockage may take some time.
An assessment is scheduled for this Friday. Following the inspection, we will provide an updates to affected rural customers outlining the next steps and anticipated timeframe to resolve this issue.
Once the issue is resolved, all water orders placed will be fulfilled however there may be delays due to the backlog of orders we receive during this time.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Please check this website or our social media for updates or call us on 1300 363 200.
