Increased truck activity – Trentham

  • Trentham

Trentham residents, please be aware that ongoing and frequent water carting is taking place, with truck deliveries to the Trentham Water Treatment Plant on Lagoon Road.

On days when carting is required up to four trucks will make continual deliveries between 7am and 6pm daily to manage operations at our plant.

Traffic management and speed restrictions are in place along Lagoon Road, while there are more heavy vehicles using this unsealed road.

We are also in touch with Hepburn Shire regarding this matter.

Residents may continue to notice water pressure fluctuations and slight changes to the look, taste or odour of their drinking water while we carry out the final commissioning stages of the Trentham Clear Water Storage Project.

We continue to closely monitor our treatment plant to ensure it can keep up with demand.

Lockington Booster Pump Station works

  • Lockington

We’ve started work on the Lockington Booster Pump Station, which will improve water pressure for Lockington customers.

The pump station will be installed next to the existing high-level tank, at Lockington Water Treatment Plant.

Construction is currently underway on the pump station building and improved access.

Nearby residents may notice works happening at the plant site, including some noise and more vehicles.

Every effort will be made to reduce noise impacts, with work only carried out during daytime hours, and no work being done on weekends.

Once construction is complete, testing and commissioning will take place mid-year, before the booster pump station can be switched on.

We’ll keep nearby residents up to date on progress. If you have any questions, please call us on 1300 363 200.

Echuca Water Tower repairs

  • Echuca

As part of our routine inspection of Echuca Water Tower carried out, we have identified loose material on the outside of the tower, within the perimeter of the property, which requires removal and repair.

Temporary fencing has now been erected around the tower and limit access to ensure public safety.

We will be undertaking a risk assessment and short-term works to improve immediate safety, with further inspections planned for mid-May. However, the temporary fencing may be in place for several months as we investigate long-term solutions.

We are working closely with Campaspe Shire and community in the immediate vicinity to ensure they’re aware of this update.

Echuca’s normal drinking water services are not affected and there are no road closures planned at this stage.

First constructed in 1915, the water tower is a piece of historic infrastructure that requires continual inspections, maintenance and repairs as it ages. We inspect the tower every six months.
