The ongoing wet weather has resulted in higher-than-normal flows entering the system, and we are currently responding to a number of sewer spills caused by the excessive rainfall.
Our crews are working across the network to contain and clean up affected areas as quickly and safely as possible.
In addition, our Environmental Response Officers (EROs) are prioritising and attending affected sites to assess impacts and ensure appropriate reporting requirements are met. Where sewer spills have occurred, the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) will be notified as required.
