Our crews are working to repair a burst water main in Yapeen, which is impacting customers in the following communities:
- Guildford - No water
- Yapeen - No water
To assist, drinking water trailers will be available later this morning at the John Powell Reserve in Fletcher Street, Guildford and Guildford General Store in Templeton Street.
Members of the community can fill drink bottles or other suitable containers at any time. A supply of bottled water will also available. Please only take what you need.
Once the repair is complete and the water supply restored, customers in Guildford and Yapeen are advised to boil their drinking water until further notice before using it for:
- drinking
- preparing beverages
- washing and preparing food
- preparing baby formula
- brushing teeth
- making ice
Unboiled water can be used for washing your hands, showering and bathing, flushing toilets, washing clothes and dishes (ensure dry before use), and garden watering. Ensure water is not consumed whilst washing or bathing.
Consumption of unboiled water can cause gastro-like symptoms. If you experience any of these symptoms, please contact your GP and inform your GP of this advisory.
Please share this advice with neighbours and friends in the affected area. Coliban Water will keep customers informed as the situation changes.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we work to return full service.
We will provide further updates here and on Facebook.
