We are beginning the construction of a new aerobic digestor at the Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant as part of the Solids Handling Upgrade project.

This will include pouring a concrete slab and walls from Tuesday 20 October and continuing over the coming months.

Each part of the concrete pour will take one day with time left in between pours to allow for the concrete to cure.

On pour days, you may notice an increase in truck movements along Howard Street, Goynes Road and Scott Street between 6am and 3pm.

The Bendigo Solids Handling Project is an upgrade of on-site facilities to better manage the final by-product of sewage treatment, biosolids. The upgraded Solids Handling Facility is due to be commissioned in 2028.

When complete, the aerobic digestor that forms part of the facility will be the largest of its kind in Australia.
