Water and sewer infrastructure is underground, with some sewer pipes located alongside Bendigo Creek.
Recent construction works in the Bendigo Creek removed sections of the concrete surface, exposing these underground assets near Lily Street.
This week’s rainfall has caused significant flows in Bendigo Creek, which have damaged sections of the exposed sewer infrastructure and caused some pipes to shift.
Crews are currently assessing the damage and considering interim options, including a possible temporary sewer bypass.
There is no impact to customer services at this time. As a precaution, the public is advised to avoid the area while investigations are underway.
