Odour update – Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant

We are experiencing odour at the Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant as a result of algae blooms on our brine lagoon.

This lagoon contains brine created at the Recycled Water Factory as part of the treatment process that is high in salt and other compounds.

Algae blooms are a seasonal issue and can arise during or after hot weather.

We are investigating options to reduce the odour. However, it may continue for the next two weeks, or until the weather cools.
