Your water is safe to drink.

Coliban Water, following consultation with the Department of Health, advises customers that the Boil Water Advisory issued on Wednesday 14 October 2026 is now lifted for Cohuna. The water is safe to drink.

The Boil Water Advisory was issued after a burst water main near the corner of King George Street and Cohuna Island Road on Tuesday evening.

The burst resulted in a water supply interruption for Cohuna customers. A burst water main like this can cause a drop in water pressure and potential ingress into the system, which may compromise the safety of the drinking water.

The Advisory is now lifted after the burst was repaired and flushing completed in the supply system.

Water quality testing has confirmed the water supply is safe to drink.

We recommend customers flush their internal taps for two minutes to draw fresh water into their internal plumbing.
