Coliban Water is seeking representatives for two of its channel systems – Spring Gully and Axe Creek – to complement the existing members who form the Rural Customer Advisory Group (RCAG).

Manager Community Relations Darren Heritage said the focus of the group, who meet quarterly, is to provide feedback on infrastructure and services for the rural water system, and identify areas for improvement.

“Our rural season for 2018/19 will start very shortly, so it’s a great time to be thinking about this opportunity and whether it’s something you’d like to work with us on,” he said.

Coliban Water’s rural system supplies untreated water to more than 1,300 rural licence holders via 520 kilometres of channels and pipelines. Rural water is untreated, and not suitable for human consumption. No quality standards apply to this water, unlike the water from the treated urban drinking supply.

“The Rural Customer Advisory Group has been in operation for more than 10 years, during which time members have provided us with valuable perspectives which form part of business planning and decisions,” Mr Heritage said. “We’re lucky to have a diverse range of rural customers who are willing to represent our various channel systems.

“This group of 11 representatives help us to understand customer needs around engagement, rural operations and water trading. It is one of the many ways in which we connect with our customers and listen,” Mr Heritage said.

If you’re interested in this opportunity, or have an enquiry or feedback, you can reach us on 1300 363 200 or email communications@coliban.com.au.
