Community groups invited to apply for $5,000 Coliban Water rebates
Community groups in Echuca, Lockington, Leitchville, and Korong Vale are invited to apply for $5,000 rebates through Coliban Water’s Community Rebates program from Friday 5 September.
Executive Manager Customer and Stakeholder Experience, Lauren McLean, said the program gives back to the community when service standards fall short.
“We know interruptions to water supply, low pressure, water quality issues, or sewer spills can be frustrating – and not the level of service our customers expect,” Ms McLean said.
“Our Community Rebates provide funding for local projects as a way of recognising the impact of those occasions, while delivering a benefit to the wider community.”
Some recent recipients included:
• Boort CFA – new smart TV for incident management and online training
• Cohuna Neighbourhood House – water-wise improvements and smart gardening workshops
• Gunbower & District Development Group – grandstand safety upgrades at Gunbower Racing Club
• Lockington & District Bush Nursing Centre – desktop computer to support telehealth appointments
• Malmsbury Fire Brigade – new equipment to help with night-time incidents
Ms McLean said the program continues to highlight the important role volunteers and community organisations play across the region.
“We know our communities are stronger thanks to the tireless efforts of local groups, and we encourage as many as possible to apply,” she said.
Rebates will be awarded through an expression of interest process. Applications close on Monday 3 November.
