Coliban Water prices for 2026/2027
As approved by the Essential Services Commission (ESC), Coliban Water has set new prices from 1 July 2026, with strong support available for customers through their Coliban Assist program for those experiencing cost-of-living pressures.
For the average household, this equates to a rise by an average of $103.49 a year or $1.99 a week. Renters paying for usage only will pay an extra 65 cents each week with the average yearly bill to be $551.53, up from $517.98. Rural customers will see charges increase by 3.7%, less than inflation but more than last year’s increase of 2.1%.
Managing Director, Damian Wells, said the changes support continued investment in essential infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing region, while maintaining a focus on affordability.
“We’re carefully balancing the need to invest in critical infrastructure with keeping bills as manageable as possible for our customers,” he said.
Most water and sewer access prices will increase by an average of 6.3% this year. This figure consists of a price adjustment of 2.5% endorsed by the ESC, plus inflation.
Mr Wells said Coliban Water understands many households are doing it tough and remains focused on providing meaningful support.
“We know the rising cost of living is affecting many people in our community, and we’re committed to supporting customers during this time,” he said.
The Coliban Assist program is the cornerstone of customer support and aims to ensure any customer experiencing vulnerability has options of support.
“The program includes Plumber Assist, leak detection, concessions, bill smoothing and payment matching, and is available to all customers in need.
”Our Customer Support Team is trained to provide confidential advice, support, or referral to other services. If you are having trouble paying your water bill, are experiencing family violence, or require other support, I encourage you to reach out early so we can work through options available to you,” he added.
