Coliban Water joins Women's Health Loddon Mallee Region's collective action for respect and equality

Coliban Water this week signed on to Women’s Health Loddon Mallee Region’s Collective Action for Respect and Equality (CARE) Partnership to end violence against women in communities before it starts.

Executive Manager Customer and Stakeholder Experience, Lauren McLean, said the partnership aims to increase the knowledge and skills in workplaces across the region.

“The CARE Partnership will further strengthen our efforts to more confidently and effectively recognise, call out, and prevent sexism and violence against women, among our customer base, within our organisation, and across the broader community,” she said.

“We are looking forward to continuing to evolve and improve through participation in the specialist training, forums, and workshops facilitated by Women’s Health Loddon Mallee for CARE Partnership members and to sharing the latest research and best practice.

“While Coliban Water has always adopted a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to sexism, violence against women, financial abuse, and gender violence, we know we can learn from others and continue to improve through collaboration of this nature.

CEO of Women’s Health Loddon Mallee, Kellie Dunn, congratulated Coliban Water for its ongoing commitment and leadership in promoting gender equality and respect.

“By saying no to violence against women, promoting women’s independence and decision-making, challenging gender stereotypes, and strengthening positive, equal, and respectful relationships Coliban Water and our more than 30 other member organisations are helping to normalise gender equality and end violence against women before it starts,” Ms Dunn said.

Ms McLean said she hoped formalising Coliban Water’s membership of the CARE Partnership in the days after International Women’s Day would encourage other local organisations, clubs, and community groups to participate.

“Preventing violence against women is everyone’s business, every day, and we all have role to play to help stop violence happening in our communities in the first place,” she said.
