Reconciliation Action Plan

Our Innovate: Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2025 (PDF 14MB) outlines the steps we're taking to reach our goal of reconciliation. It is strengthening our relationships, communities and business, and informing our plans for the future.

We recognise that the region we service across Central and Northern Victoria has a human history that began with Traditional Owner custodians. We acknowledge and respect the unique connection and history that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have to the land, water and Country we live and work on.

Our plan was developed and approved in collaboration with Djaara and Reconciliation Australia.

DJAARA Partnership

In November 2024 Coliban Water and DJAARA (the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation) signed a partnership agreement, committing to work together in shared custodianship of gatjin (water) on Dja Dja Wurrung Country and deliver shared outcomes for both organisations.

Signed by Damian Wells, Coliban Water Managing Director, and Rodney Carter, DJAARA Chief Executive Officer, the partnership outlines the vision, principles, approach and behaviours both corporations will follow to ensure future success in the water stewardship of the region.

The overarching vision is founded on a mutual respect, with recognition of DJAARA’s rights and Coliban Water’s responsibilities, which will help Coliban Water achieve our strategy of dhelk gatjin dhelk balak – healthy water, healthy people.
