The Coliban Rural System provides untreated water to approximately 1,500 rural licence holders via 550 kilometres of channels and pipelines.

Water first flowed through the system in 1877 with the completion of 65km of the Coliban Main Channel from Malmsbury Reservoir to Bendigo.
